In this article, I describe how the coronavirus crisis led to an unprecedented wave of scientific collaboration, both inside and outside traditional institutions, showcasing in particular the example of our initiative OpenCOVID19 on Just One Giant Lab.
Our work on the rise and fall of research fields has been featured in the French newspaper Le Monde. The content can be accessed here (in French). We explain how the analysis of millions of scientific articles showed that innovators in Science work in small teams, are young, multidisciplinary (publish in many disciplines) and interdisciplinary (publish at the border between disciplines).
